This tree, spiny, lustrous, dark green leaves with broad, creamy-white margins on dark purple stems. Contrary to expectations this slow-growing, variegated, evergreen holly. An attractive specimen tree for small, sunny gardens, particularly those in urban or coastal areas. Plants grown as free-standing specimens require minimal pruning - remove diseased or misplaced branches in spring. Trim plants grown as formal hedges in late summer. After pruning apply a well-rotted compost or manure around the base of the plant.
