The Leyland cypress, commonly referred to as the Leyland cypress, is a fertile two-generic hybrid between the Monterey cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa) and the false cypress (Chamaecyparis nootkatensis). It is a fast-growing (80 cm per year in early years), evergreen conifer with a dense, broad colonial habit with the narrow-pyramidal one that usually grows like a tree. Characteristics of leaves decorated with gray-green leaves on dense narrow branches and cones with dark brown fruits and leathery, reddish-brown. Through pruning it takes different forms.
