Fruit is terrific picked straight from the tree and eaten fresh, sliced into fruit salad, or baked in pies, tarts. It is still prized for outstanding flavor, sweet and juicy white flesh and low chill requirement that allows it to grow in a wide range of climates. When planting, keep the base of the trunk exposed. Best in fertile, well-drained soil. Watering regularly until established. Prune when dormant, in late autumn or late winter. Apply a complete fertilizer formulated for fruit bearing varieties.
